Sri Thyagarajaswamy Temple


Sri Thyagarajaswamy Temple is dedicated to Somaskandar, a form of Lord Shiva. The temple complex has shrines of other gods, such as the Kamalaamba, Vanmikanathar and Thyagarajar. It also has a Kamalalayam temple tank which is considered to be the largest in India.
The Thyagaraja car festival is celebrated at this temple once in 12 years, along with the Kumbabishekam. This festival is known as Azhazhi Ther and is celebrated in the month of April.

Agnipureeswarar Temple


The Agnipureeswarar Temple is 126th in the series of Tevara Stalams in the Chola region, which covers areas south of the Kaveri River. The prime deity, Lord Shiva, is believed to have married Goddess Parvati at this temple. The temple has several inscriptions related to epics and kings of the Chola Dynasty.
